Getting started with OBT’s secure client portal
OBT is moving to an online portal for the provision of tax and business documents.
This is a secure online platform that allows OBT Accounting & Tax to send our clients copies of documents for signing, review and further use at a later stage.
Why are we doing this?
- Improved security for sending information to individuals or businesses. A secure portal helps avoid various scams and other internet safety issues relating to personal data being online.
- No more printing and posting for OBT Accounting & Tax or for our clients. This means you won’t need to physically sign and post your information back to us as you may have done in the past.
- The portal gives the ability to digitally sign documents that we send at the click of a button. We can have your signed documents back in our office the same day we sent them — you just need to sign in and approve the document.
In order for us to add you to our secure portal, we will use an email address specific to you. This is a requirement for the digital signing of documents. When we add you to our portal, you will receive a notification that will step you through setting up a password and completing your portal login process.
Our new client portal will not cost our clients a thing and helps us collaborate in a more modern and efficient way. OBT clients can also sign into the portal to view any documents we’ve previously sent at any time, or use it to send us your own information back to us. It’s a two-way street.
