Since being in her new role for the last 12 months as Client Accounting Support, Debbie Robinson works closely with the accountants helping keeping OBT’s clients organised.
With ATO lodgement deadlines in process at the moment, conveying key information between clients and accountants is very important in ensuring that targets set by the ATO are met and, if possible, exceeded.
The preparation of the financial year-end is well underway and, as we approach the start to the next financial year, Debbie’s advice is to try and get organised sooner rather than later.
Outside of meeting critical year-end deadlines, Debbie works in conjunction with Amanda Goos in OBT’s corporate compliance team, typically taking care of all company secretarial matters and dealing with ASIC.
“I do miss being out in the front office and seeing all our clients when they come to visit. The upside is that I get to work more closely with our clients and accountants,” says Debbie. “I am always looking for smarter ways of doing things to improve our internal processes. Rodney and Brett are great about providing training to improve our capabilities. I am very fortunate to work with a great group of people.”
Recently Debbie was part of the team who raised much-needed funds for the Cancer Council by holding another Biggest Morning Tea.
“I’m not sure which was more fun – the baking or the eating. But we did manage to raise $315 for a very good cause.”
